Why Dry Brush?

Why Dry Brushing?

The months are warming up, and soon shorts and swimwear will be the attire.  So, how can you give your body and skin the appearance of being healthy and vibrant?  DRY BRUSHING!!!

Dry brushing is a self-care practice that involves using a brush with stiff bristles to massage and exfoliate the skin. Scientific research is limited, but I have personally used dry brushing while I was competing and still do now. You spend only a couple of minutes before your shower.

The benefits of dry brushing are:

1. Exfoliation: Dry brushing removes dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, promoting a smoother and more radiant complexion. Unclogging pores and allowing the skin to breathe reduces the occurrence of ingrown hairs.

2. Improved circulation: Dry brushing stimulates blood flow to the skin, which enhances circulation throughout the body. This increased circulation delivers oxygen and nutrients to the skin cells while aiding in the removal of toxins and metabolic waste.

3. Lymphatic system support: Dry brushing stimulates the lymphatic system, which is crucial in immune function and waste removal. Regular dry brushing promotes lymphatic flow and facilitates the removal of toxins from the body.

4. Reduction in the appearance of cellulite: While dry brushing cannot cure cellulite, it does improve its appearance—the exfoliation and increased blood flow plump and smooth the skin, reducing the visibility of cellulite.

5. Stress relief: Dry brushing provides a relaxing and invigorating experience. The gentle pressure and repetitive brushing motion relieved muscle tension and promoted a sense of calm and well-being.

Start dry brushing with gentle strokes and avoid over-brushing, as excessive pressure can irritate the skin. But this is a simple and effective way to improve the appearance of your skin and your physique. You will not be disappointed.
